Personality Profile: Loose-Passive Players
Loose-passive poker online players are tough to watch-they count on luck to hit their hand, and give up as soon as it doesn’t. Loose passive players see a lot of action in the beginning of the online poker hand, but when they start to see any opposition, they back out fairly quickly. Once you see a player with a tendency to jump into pots, he’s either a loose-aggressive player, or a loose-tight player, and loose tight players are a little tougher to spot than loose-aggressive poker players. Loose-aggressive guys buy up the attention with their big bets and bluffs, but the less flashy loose-passive players can get lost in the shuffle, because they rarely play after the flop comes. Loose-passive players are hopeful, before the flop but they don’t stick around if the flop doesn’t hit them. They’ll play a lot of mediocre starting hands in hopes that they’ll draw a miracle flop but when they don’t (and they often don’t), they’ll either check or fold as soon as someone bets into them. They’re usually newbie or casual players who don’t know any better than to play every hand and hope the flop hits. And they are great to play against, because they generally pad the pot and frequently give up their hands without much of a fight.
