Email Problems Over the Weekend for Fasthosts Customers
The weekend saw frantic Fasthosts customers scurrying to look for assistance, only to be met with no response from either the customer support of the company or the official website, reports the news site, The Register. Angry customers also said that complaints submitted via other email addresses also failed to get any response from the company about the problem.
The problem was later addressed by Fasthosts, whose spokesperson attributed it to a ‘technical issue’. Speaking to The Register, he said that one of the Email Filters that the company uses for its email service went offline for about 45 minutes, leaving customers unable to access their email accounts during the period.
Though reactivation saw the bulk of accounts working normally, about a hundred unfortunate users did not get any relief because of a corrupt system file error on their accounts. However, the snag did not result in the loss of any emails, which were all preserved by the company. Apart from issuing an unconditional apology on behalf of the company, the spokesperson said that the pending emails will be sent out shortly.
Customers who continue to experience problems with Fasthosts’ email server have been requested to get in touch with the technical support staff of the company. If service provider problems are a familiar scenario for you, it might be time to consider a different option. Why not compare the broadband providers with a site that offers information on the top UK broadband providers and those from the lesser known such as Post Office Broadband - it surprised me.
