Keeping Your Pocket Sugar Glider Healthy
One of the interesting things about the pocket sugar glider is that they are robust little pets. But, like any living creatures, they too can occasionally get sick. However, you should not worry too much about keeping your pocket sugar gliders healthy. They do not carry any diseases, so as long as you can keep your gliders healthy, they will not cause you any trouble. Keeping your pocket sugar glider healthy is quite simple. You just have to make sure they get enough fluids and warmth.
You need to make sure your pockets sugar glider does not get dehydrated. Fluids are important for them. You need to get your pockets sugar glider to drink every couple hour. Just place a bowl of fresh and clean water near them so that they can drink from it when they get thirsty. You can also include fruits or juices that contain fluids in their diet. A piece of apple could be great source of fluid for your pockets sugar glider. The main problem is that your pockets sugar glider is not clever enough to recognize where they can find water, so it is your job to make sure they can find their drink easily.
The second key to keep your pockets sugar glider healthy is to make sure they are warm enough. The best temperature for the pockets sugar glider is around 80 to 85 degree Fahrenheit. Sometimes they cannot generate enough heat to keep them in the best temperature. The easiest way to increase the temperature is to keep them up against your body. The sugar glide body will absorb your body temperature so that they will stay warm. But you have to remember that pockets sugar glide is very small creatures so you should hug them too tight.
